Deep Dive - Six of Swords

The Six of Swords is a card about journeys, pilgrimage, and moving forward. Making the decision to let go of what is holding us back is often difficult. Even when we know the path ahead will be full of obstacles and challenges the knowledge that deep down this is the right call can guide us ahead.

Often this card is described as a spiritual journey, but it can represent physically moving on or away from someone/something. Remembering that this is the Swords suit, I think this card can indicate the point of decision, when we mentally make the transition of knowing it is time to let go.

For me the biggest points of this card were the process of breaking free from old constraints, and the fact that this can leave us in a very vulnerable place. The Six of Swords is about breaking out, of releasing ourselves from something that is holding us down or back from being who we truly are. We grow and change naturally over time and need to make adjustments in our lives to reflect that.
