Introducing the Deep Dive Series

Page of Pentacles

good fortune, setting goals, planning for success, youthful outlook, curious nature, ambition, manifestation

I have been wanting to do a deep dive of the cards from the Forager’s Daughter Tarot for a long time, and aim to begin sharing those thoughts with you all. I am constantly learning more and more about the cards, and deepening my understanding of their meanings and the symbols within them. I was only able to fit so much text in the guidebook, and there is so much more to explore within tarot. These writings will include more insight into the traditional meanings and artwork of the tarot, but also into the personal memories and associations I have that inspired the FD deck.

The full Deep Dive write-up can be found on my Patreon page.

Traditional Elements: Earth/Earth

Traditional imagery: a young person standing in a lush field, clover and flowers around his feet, trees and mountains in the background, a field, sunny yellow sky, he is looking admiringly at the pentacle in his hands

FD Tarot imagery: dandelions, a collection of stones and pebbles (stacked), a golden pentacle with a woven border (suggesting wheat), and a crescent moon

The dandelions represent a youthful or childlike mindset. They reference the act of children blowing on dandelion seeds while making a wish, sending their intentions out into the universe. All work begins with a wish or desire. This card focuses on the initial stages of discovering what it is you wish for, while also discovering your potential to obtain said wish.

The pebbles represent collecting resources, or sources of power and wealth. Again this references back to a childhood habit of filling my pockets with stones, acorns, flower buds, and anything else that seemed to hold special value. This is also a time to look closely at what you hold valuable in your life – what items, people, habits are you admiring, and are they helpful and supportive of your goals?
