Queen of Wands: Deep Dive Series
The Queen of Wands sits regally and confidently on a throne adorned with carvings of felines, hinting at her own primal powers and instincts. Elementally she represents water and fire, a blend of intuition and action. This is a figure who embodies as many masculine qualities as feminine, emphasized by her direct posture which mimics that of the Emperor, Hierophant, and other king cards. She can be both gentle and action-oriented, caring and self-serving, beautiful and strong-willed. This goes back to the push/pull of her water and fire elements. The sunflowers in this card reflect her warm and optimistic attitude, and the symbolic meaning of abundance and success.
The Forager’s Daughter version of this card shows a large Painted Lady butterfly, a species with stunning orange and copper coloring and attractive patterning on its wings. The butterfly is nestled among a cluster of goldenrod fully in bloom. In the forefront is a light-colored wand, ornately curved and carved. It is standing upright directed at the sky. The Queen of Wands is a social butterfly, easily connecting with others and drawing them to her own passions and ideas just like the goldenrod attracts pollinators.
This is just a sample from the Deep Dive series article about the Queen of Wands, which I share over on my Patreon page. This one was pretty extensive and includes two parts looking first at the visual cues and symbols of the RWS and the Forager’s Daughter card, and then more specifically at how to interpret the Queen of Wands in a reading.
