The Sentry - from the Artifacts & Envoys Oracle

Confidence. Caution. Vulnerability. The sentry dons the helmet or armor to protect themselves and signal an oncoming threat to others. Self-preservation is key here. You can’t help others if you yourself are wounded. The tiny hermit crab taking refuge under the helmet is a reminder of our own vulnerabilities. When the Sentry appears for you, it may be a time to consider the precautions you are or aren’t taking before jumping into a situation. Sometimes we need to ask: What are we willing to lose to protect ourselves?

The Artifacts & Envoys Oracle features iconic tools, artifacts, and objects integral to our development and survival as humans, along with carefully selected animal messengers. Together these images create an illustrated archetype: facets of ourselves and of those around us. The Artifacts & Envoys deck is designed to be a companion to the Forager's Daughter Tarot, mirroring our connection to nature while highlighting the innovation and ingenuity inherent to history.
