Backyard Inspiration - Clematis

I love finding the inspiration for my cards out in the wild! This is the clematis that blooms each summer and climbs up the railing of our front porch. The color is so rich, pictures really don’t do it justice. The petals look like they’re made of velvet.

I’ve included clematis as a symbol for steady progress in the Strength card from the tarot deck, and it is making another appearance in The Sovereign from the Artifacts & Envoys Oracle. In this new card, it symbolizes regality, aspiration, and succession. I really enjoy seeing how the clematis ties these two together. I’ve been playing with some other oracle and tarot combinations and am excited to share those, I think they are creating interesting conversations.
