Card Comparisons

While I was working on the Domesticate card, I kept thinking about a few tarot cards that had similar energy. I thought it’d be fun to see them side-by-side!

The Empress and Ten of Pentacles are from the Forager’s Daughter Tarot. The Empress and Domesticate both represent a person who thrives off nurturing others. They generously share their abundance and take pride in creating a comforting and nourishing environment.

The Ten of Pentacles often depicts a family with multiple generations coexisting happily in a lush garden. My version of the card nods at this idea through the image of heirloom roses and a mother bear and her cub. The Domesticate also evokes the vision of a happy home, where friends and family of all ages and walks of life can come to rest. The hearth is a literal and symbolic center that sees the growth of a family over time.
